Note:
• Unbranded jewelry listed under a brand name will be removed.
• Unsigned jewelry incorrectly listed under an accepted brand will be rejected during listing and/or Authentication & Quality Control.
In order to meet the buyer's expectations and avoid a potential cancellation of the sale, please include as much information as possible about your jewelry during listing.
What to include in your listing
Include the following information when relevant. If you don’t know the information, please check your invoice or laboratory certificate:
• Precious metals used (e.g., gold, white gold, platinum, silver, etc.) and the specific names of any stones or jewels
• Composition of the stones (For example, you should not state "crystal" if the item is "glass," or "stone" if it is "reconstituted stone")
• Photo of the laboratory certificate provided at the point of purchase if you have it (note: you'll need to ship the certificate alongside the item when it sells)
• Any treatments that have been applied to the gemstones
• Details on the inclusions of natural gems ("inclusions" are any materials naturally trapped within a mineral as it forms. This could be crystals, gas bubbles, or even tiny fractures)
💡 Good to know: The laws around jewelry and hallmarks vary from country to country and are designed to facilitate the cross-border trade of precious metal items and protect buyers at the highest possible level. If we receive an item at our warehouse for Authentication & Quality Control and no hallmark is found, the sale will be canceled and the item returned to its seller.
A word on treatments
By law, a buyer must be informed of any treatment that has been performed on a stone (e.g., oil or resin treatments, laser treatment, coating, or irradiation). If you’re not sure about the treatments your stone(s) may have undergone, we recommend having your gemstones appraised by a gemologist before listing your item on Vestiaire Collective.
