This article explains why an account may be suspended, blocked, or restricted on Vestiaire Collective and what to do to get it back.
1. Why is my account suspended?
To maintain a safe and authentic luxury marketplace, Vestiaire Collective may temporarily or permanently suspend accounts that have violated community policies.
When a restriction is applied, we send an email to your registered address. It includes the reason for the suspension and, when possible, the steps to resolve it.
2. Temporary vs. Permanent Suspension
Understanding your account status determines how you can interact with the platform moving forward:
Temporary Suspension
This is a protective pause placed on your account.
During a temporary suspension, some features are paused to protect the community, while others remain available so you can wrap up ongoing activity.
-You can still:
- Log in and view your profile
- Track orders/sales you’ve shipped or purchased
-You cannot:
- List new items or edit existing listings
- Buy items, make offers, or place bids
- In some cases, send or receive messages via Buyer–Seller Chat
We may place your shop in Vacation Mode to pause activity. When activated by Vestiaire Collective, this mode is different from the standard Vacation Mode and can’t be turned off manually. While it’s on, your listings won’t appear in search and can’t be purchased.
Permanent Suspension
Permanent Suspension: This occurs when severe or repeated violations of our platform rules take place. You won’t have access to your account anymore.
3. Common Reasons for Account Suspension or Restriction on Vestiaire Collective
If you are unsure why your account was restricted, review the following common scenarios to see if they apply to your profile:
Counterfeit & Authenticity Policy Violations
We have zero tolerance for items deemed counterfeit after verification. Repeated listings that fail our authenticity standards result in automatic suspension. Please review the email you received, acknowledge the guideline, provide the requested documents and ensure all future listings are 100% authentic.
Account Security and Buyer Seller Chat Policy Violations
To maintain a safe space, our security system automatically detects and restricts accounts that share personal data (such as phone numbers, bank details, or external links). Additionally, any form of spam, inappropriate content, or threatening behavior within the buyer seller chat is strictly prohibited and will lead to temporary or permanent account suspension. Multiple Accounts
To ensure a fair and secure marketplace, we perform regular checks. If, following a routine security inspection, additional accounts are identified as linked to the same user information, these duplicate profiles will be deactivated. As outlined in Article 13 of our Seller Terms and Conditions and Article 15 of our Buyer Terms and Conditions, members are permitted to maintain only one active account on Vestiaire Collective, which must be used for both buying and selling.
